Android Support

Until now, CallLog supported only Symbian Series 60 handsets. While quite a few different S60 handsets are out there, times and trends change and we must keep CallLog relevant to the most popular consumer devices. Yesterday we completed testing of our Android offering and things went well enough for a full release.
The download section of the site now offers both types of client; you'll notice
two download links for Android and Symbian respectively. You can also install the client from your mobile handset by browsing to
get.calllog.org on the mobile device.
The Android client exports your calls and messages, but unlike the S60 client, it doesn't export data events. This is because Android devices are always-on in terms of internet connectivity. The Android client also supports full and partial exporting - allowing you to control your privacy concerns. And of course, the Android client (like the S60 client) exports your data over a secure SSL connection to the CallLog server - mitigating any in-transit privacy risks.
We hope some of you will find suport for Android a reason to begin using CallLog to archive and manage your call data.
Finally, it's worth mentioning that Android support was driven by you! Android support was top of the desired features list on our
User Voice Feedback. We are actively using this as a means to prioritise which features get developed. If you want to see a particular feature then
please let us know about it.

CallLog Updates
As some may have already noticed, a couple of small updates have been released recently. The most obvious change is the logo. The logo was modified slightly to make it look cleaner and more professional. I'll detail some of the other updates below.
User FeedbackUnder the
Help menu you will now find a
Feedback option which will direct you to CallLog's UserVoice page. Select this option to review proposed features and submit new ideas for what you'd like to see in the next update to CallLog.
Message TimelineA message timeline, put simply, is a visual representation of text messages sent between you and one of your contacts. You select the contact and a date range and CallLog generates the timeline. Message timelines make it easy to follow a conversation you had with one of your contacts.
Test DataYou can now more easily test your CallLog account with the addition of a
Create Test Data option. In your
Account Settings page there is an option for creating test calls, messages and data events. This feature is designed for those people who want to try CallLog without uploading their current data.
You can only generate test data if you currently have no data present in your account. A test tariff will also be created and made active for you if you don't already have a tariff defined.
Delete AccountThe second addition to the
Account Settings page is a
Delete My Account option, allowing users who no longer wish to use CallLog to remove their account and all associated data. If you wish to remove your account, click the button and follow the steps on the next page to confirm your account deletion. Please note that deleted accounts really get deleted and accounts cannot be brought back from the dead - so make sure you only remove your account if you're sure you won't be needing any of the data.

Don't forget - if you have a feature you'd like to see implemented then
let us know.

Introducing CallLog
The Elevator SpeechCallLog is an online archive and reporting tool for your call data. Your call data is sent directly from your mobile handset to CallLog as often as you wish. Once your call data is received, CallLog immediately begins calculating reports and statistics. Learn
your average call time,
who you speak to most often,
your cost estimate and
your tariff usage.
CallLog keeps all of your call, message and network data history, allowing you to search, sort and filter it from any point in time. Want to know how long you spent on the phone to your clients today?, Maybe you want to know if most of your bill was due to calls or messages this month.
Report DashboardLogging into your account takes you to your dashboard; a growing collection of user selected reporting widgets that show you various things about your live data.

Data ArchivingAs your archive of call data grows, powerful searching and sorting makes it easy to find what you need. CallLog allows composite filtering of your data, allowing you to build complex searches for data, such as
calls between two times on a certain day to a particular person.

Cost AnalysisCallLog allows you to define a tariff for your data so that a cost estimation can be produced. Cost estimations allow you to monitor how your overall cost changes over time. Each time you update CallLog with your data, your portfolio becomes more and more accurate with regards to your typical usage, costs and trends.
How Do I Use CallLog?Firstly, you must
install the data exporter on your mobile handset. Please note: your handset should be set to install third party applications as described
in the FAQ. Once the data exporter is installed, you can export your data by following the instructions
here. When your export is complete, your data will be available to you when you login to your account.
Want More Information?I hope this short introduction has been useful in explaining what CallLog is all about. If you are still left with questions and want to talk to me directly, please
follow me on twitter and feel free to ask any questions you may have. Alternatively, you can find our contact details
here.
